For those who don’t already know, the government of India has officially communicated that they have elevated the prices of petrol and diesel starting from this morning.

The increased price of petrol and diesel across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have come to effect since this morning, and this does not make for a good reading for the Telugu states population.

The prices of petrol and diesel in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are amongst the highest in the country. Interestingly, it is Andhra Pradesh, which has the highest petrol prices for any other state in India.

Andhra Pradesh - ₹113.03

Telangana - ₹110.89

Kerala - ₹110.58

Madhya Pradesh - ₹109.71

West Bengal - ₹108.70

Bihar - ₹108.55

Rajasthan - ₹107.97

Maharashtra - ₹106.68

Sikkim - ₹106.50

Karnataka - ₹106.21

Ladakh - ₹106.05

Odisha - ₹104.19

Tamil Nadu - ₹103.67

The fact that the petrol prices in Andhra Pradesh are nearly ₹10 higher than the neighbouring states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu is painting a very bad picture.

These are largely due to the central taxes that are imposed on the petrol and diesel prices, but it is perhaps the responsibility of the state governments also to do something about this.

It is shocking to see the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana having to pay the highest price for petrol and diesel for any other state in India.
