Pillars of Medigadda sink: Confused BRS removes Kaleshwaram from its list of achievements
If highly placed sources are to be believed, the BRS has already removed the Kaleshwaram project and the Medigadda barrage from the list of achievements of the government.
This couldn’t have come at the worst time for the ruling BRS and its chief minister KCR. The prestigious barrage of Medigadda, which forms part of the flagship Kaleshwaram project, is said to be sinking. Sunday and Monday were rife with rumours of at least four pillars of the barrage sinking, raising doubts about the strength of the basement itself.
A shocked BRS government has put a thick blanket of secrecy over the project and has completely blocked the entry of people anywhere near the project. Though this is two-day old news, the BRS government or its irrigation department have not issued any clarification on the state of the Medigadda barrage.
What is more problematic for the BRS is that this has come at a time when the elections are on. What more? Chief Minister KCR himself is holding the charge of the prestigious irrigation department. The BRS is at loss for a response with both the BJP and the Congress launching a tirade and demanding a statement from the government.
If highly placed sources are to be believed, the BRS has already removed the Kaleshwaram project and the Medigadda barrage from the list of achievements of the government. The BRS is planning not to talk about this during the election campaign. But, will the opposition parties leave this issue?
