Young Player Accused Of Breaching 3 ICC Codes!

International cricket governing body ICC said that Praveen Jayawickrama was charged under the Anti-Corruption Code for three charges.

Sri Lankan had created a sensation with a memorable win against India in bilateral series. After a long gap of 27 years, Sri Lanka defeated India and won a series. The hosts had dominated us in every aspect and won the series. While India swept the T20 series Sri Lanka won the ODI series.

Spoiling the mood a cricket was slapped with a ban. A 25-year-old bowler is under fire with allegations of three charges. He is charged with three big charges of corruption over fixing.

International cricket governing body ICC said that Praveen Jayawickrama was charged under the Anti-Corruption Code for three charges.

One is that he did not alert the Anti-Corruption wing when the fixers contacted him to fix the matches. The second charge is that when he was asked to approach another player for fixing he failed to take the matter to the ICC.

The third charge faced by the player is that he created obstacles to the investigation in the issue by deleting the messages. This affected the investigation into the allegations. These charges made the ICC take strict actions.

The ICC and Sri Lankan Cricket Board decided to take disciplinary action against the player. The player was given 14 days to respond to the allegations. The Player was directed to come up with an explanation into the allegations. The action was taken by the board and ICC under Articles 1.7.4.1 and 1.8.1 of the Anti-Corruption Code.

Though ICC said that the player was given 14 days to respond there is no response from the player yet.
