Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for the elections. In the wake of the elections, anything that is related to the state is getting highlighted. We are seeing an intense fight between the parties as part of the campaign. They are busy targeting the opponents and making counter arguments.
Ahead of the elections, the capital issue had hit the headlines. RBI made key comments on the capital of the state and gave a reason behind not setting up the regional office in Andhra Pradesh after the state bifurcation.
Akhila Bharat Panchayat Parishad State chief Jasti Veeranjaneyulu is said to have written to the RBI asking why no regional office was set up in AP as it requires to go to Hyderabad for any transactions.
To this, the RBI reportedly gave a reply saying that they did not set up an office here due to the confusion over the capital city. Having said that, the RBI is believed to have said that they cannot set up office unless the confusion over the capital city gets resolved.
It has to be mentioned here that after the state bifurcation, Amareavati was named as the capital city and many felt that the regional office would be set up there. But the capital issue saw a big twist with YCP coming to power.
The new government said that instead of Amaravati there is a need to have three capitals. Since then there is a confusion about the capital city. In a few instances, the Union government identified Amaravati as the capital. However the state government had different plans. This led to a big confusion.
As the issue came to light ahead of the elections, this grabbed everyone’s attention and brought the focus to the capital city again.
