How Much Money RCB Got For Winning IPL?
Now let us have a look at the financial side of things as we assess the kind of financial boost that RCB will be getting for winning IPL this year.
It is already known that Royal Challengers Bengaluru created history by becoming only the third team to win the IPL trophy back to back in consecutive seasons. Only Mumbai and Chennai have been able to repeat this achievement in the past.
Now let us have a look at the financial side of things as we assess the kind of financial boost that RCB will be getting for winning IPL this year.
Coming to the latest reports, it is being established in principal that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru had received a financial compliment of ₹20 crore for winning the IPL.
It was already decided that the winner of the IPL trophy would be winning ₹20 crore prize money and the same is the case with RCB now. This might not seem like a big number in the context of the IPL finances, which are generally in hundreds or even thousands of crores.
On the other hand, we have the case of runner-up Gujarat Titans, who will reportedly be receiving in the range of ₹12.5 - ₹13 crore. This is comparatively less to the champion team, but that is the nature of the game.
The rest of the teams will also be getting standard amount of money from the initially decided price distribution pool. This is mainly due to the revenue generator from Media rights and the BCCI.
Meanwhile, there is this growing demand to increase the duration of IPL and there are chances that the 2028 season could have significantly more games than the current season.
