Who Can Take The Place Of Hitman Rohit As Skipper?

Hit Man Rohit Sharma had a glorious career as a batsman and added a new feather to his cap by becoming the team's skipper. He had a forgettable outing in his first World Cup as the skipper. India was knocked out of the semis by England by 10 wickets. He bounced back and lifted the trophy in his second WC as captain.

India won the 2024 World Cup with a stunning performance. It remained unbeaten throughout the league. In the same high as the captain Rohit Sharma announced his retirement. He would not feature in the next World Cup.

As Rohit Sharma announced his retirement a few names are doing rounds as the possible leader in the shirt format. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill are said to be in consideration.

Shubman Gill: The 24-year-old is selected as the captain for the Zimbabwe series. He is an opener like Rohit Sharma and fans are saying that this would be a good change in captainship. One opener taking over from another opener to lead the team.

Hardik Pandya: The 30-year-old all-rounder played a key role in India winning the finals. He is a clutch player in knockouts and having such a player as the skipper would be an advantage.

Jasprit Bumrah: The speedster is undoubtedly in his best form. Throughout the tournament, he maintained the construct and gave the breakthroughs the team wanted. He is the Vice-captain of the team. If he gets the captaincy then we can see a bowler leading the team after the Great Kapil Dev.

Suryakumar Yadav: The player has the image of a 360-degree player due to his ability to hit the ball at any part of the stadium. Reports say that the 33-year-old is also in the race.

It would be interesting to see whom the BCCI would pick as the replacement for Rohit Sharma and who would step into the big shoes of Hitman as the leader.
