Most Deportations Of Indians: Who Did It More Than US?
Several other countries also reported notable deportations, including Myanmar, Malaysia, the UAE, Bahrain, Thailand, and Cambodia.;
United States has started to deport Indian individuals and also a multiple major international immigrants on security grounds, but contrary to popular belief, the United States is not the country that deported the highest number of Indians in 2025.
According to official data shared by the Ministry of External Affairs in Parliament, Saudi Arabia emerged as the top country deporting Indian nationals this year. The figures revealed that more than 24,600 Indians were deported globally from 81 countries during 2025, highlighting the growing challenges faced by Indian migrants abroad.
Saudi Arabia alone accounted for over 11,000 deportations, far exceeding the numbers from any other country. The United States stood second with around 3,800 Indian nationals sent back, a significant figure but still much lower than Saudi Arabia.
Several other countries also reported notable deportations, including Myanmar, Malaysia, the UAE, Bahrain, Thailand, and Cambodia.
Most deportations were linked to visa related issues such as overstaying, working without proper authorization, expired documents, or violations of local immigration laws. Gulf countries, which host a large population of Indian migrant workers, saw higher numbers due to strict enforcement of residency and labor regulations.
The data underlines the importance of legal compliance for Indians living overseas and the need for better awareness about immigration rules. It also reflects how changing global migration policies are increasingly affecting Indian workers and students abroad.
