The election buzz gripped the country in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections. EC is holding elections in a phased manner and we are done with four phases already. The final results will be out on the fourth of June. The ongoing elections are dubbed as one of the intense elections.

Usually, the elections are seen as a fight between the ruling and opposition sides. But the stakes are different this time. Everyone is talking about BJP’s 400 seats call-’Ab ki baar 400 paar'. In the history of elections, only once this was achieved that too by Congress. With this, discussions and debates are going on about the possibility.

Amid this, Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar who is in Uttar Pradesh to campaign as high stakes seats- Rae Bareli(Rahul Gandhi) and Amethi will face the elections made sensational comments. The firebrand leader said that the INDIA bloc will get over 300 seats while NDA will be restricted to 200 seats.

DK Shivakumar said that the BJP made a lot of promises but did not fulfill them and hence it is playing an emotional card. He asked if peoples lives changed any bit and whether they benefitted. He predicts that the INDIA bloc will get over 300 seats and NDA will get only 200 seats.

However, there are a few doubts about whether this is possible or not. Congress brought the opposition parties under one roof named the INDIA bloc. However, there are cracks in the alliance due to different ideologies. Though the parties concerned are fighting the BJP, in some states they are fighting against each other.

The seat-sharing issue is leading to issues and the parties parting ways. If we take West Bengal and Punjab as examples, TMC is in the INDIA bloc and it is contesting alone. In Punjab, the Congress and AAP are facing each other. Such incidents give a picture that things are not well between them and the BJP is highlighting the same. So winning 300 seats is a big task considering NDA’s performance in 2014 and 2019.
