Actor-turned-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin entered politics as the heir of Stalin, who is the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. He is the Cabinet Minister of the state. Earlier the Chief Minister's son landed in a big controversy with his objectionable comments which created a big uproar.

It is known that Udhayanidhi Stalin made objectionable comments on Sanatana Dharma. At a conference, he said Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated and even equated it to Dengue and Malaria. A case has been filed and a letter was written to the CJI by many personalities to take a suo moto cognizance of the issue.

Now a big development happened in the case. The Minister appeared before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in Bangalore. He was granted bail in the case and the next hearing was postponed to August 8th. On a surety of Rs one lakh, he was granted bail.

The Minister created a sensation with his comments. At a conference, he said that Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated like malaria and dengue. The reason he gave is that there is social injustice in Sanatana Dharma and hence it should be eradicated.

He quoted the absence of President Droupadi Murmu at the inauguration of the new Parliament. His comments did not go well with many as they asked how he could make such comments. His comments also led to cracks in the INDIA bloc. Congress and other parties distanced themselves from the comments.

Those who have observed Tamil Nadu politics say that passing such comments is not new as Dravidian politics have been dominating the state for a very long time. Udhayanidhi Stalin's grandfather Karunanidhi made such objectionable comments many times in his time.
