Shocker: 25 Killed In Jail, 100 Are Badly Injured!

A shocking incident has happened in a jail in Sri Lanka which has resulted in an extremely distressing incident where multiple individuals have been found dead. The nature of the fights were very brutal and the consequences are being felt now.

According to the latest reports, the death toll from the riots that occurred in a prison in Negombo, in Sri Lanka, has risen to 25, while at least 100 people were injured, police reported.

Among the deceased are, according to reports, five prison officials and 20 inmates. It was reported that measures are being taken to transfer the inmates from Negombo prison to other correctional facilities in order to ease the situation.

The clashes in this Sri Lankan jail killed 25 people, including 5 guards, and wounded more than 100 in the country’s deadliest prison riot in years, as said by the officials at the prison today.

Apparently, the victims were reported with cuts and gunshot injuries and they were rushed to Negombo Hospital, north of the capital Colombo. It is reported that the fight originally broke out between two rival drug gangs and the members were very violent.

Concerned higher authorities including the official representative, Gajanayake stated that prison officers used the minimum force necessary to restore order after renewed clashes at Negombo Prison today.

He noted that authorities have regained control of the prison, additional security has been deployed, and steps are underway to transfer a number of inmates to other correctional facilities.
