Objectionable Skit On Ramayana,Students Face Harsh Punishment!

Religion and belief are sensitive issues. One should be very careful while dealing with them. There is a harsh criticism that in the name of freedom of expression, people are messing with beliefs and hurting them. We have seen such incidents many times followed by protests.

However, it looks like people are not understanding the harsh consequences of doing so. Yet again another incident came to light. This time this happened at a popular educational institution.Students faced the fire of it and attracted huge fines and other punishments.

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay took strong action against students who made a derogatory skit ok Epic Ramayana. It is said that objectionable language and body language was used. A few students took strong objection to this and demanded strict action.

With this, the administration is said to have swung into action and imposed a fine of Rs 1.2 lakh to every student who was part of the skit. Juniors were slapped with a Rs 40000 fine. Students involved in the skit cannot take the gymkhana awards and juniors were asked to vacate the hostels and they cannot join hostels.
