Why YSRCP is happy at TDP-Jana Sena alliance?

Has Pawan Kalyan’s statement that he would join hands with the TDP ahead of the 2024 assembly elections come has a godsend for the YSRCP? Otherwise, why is the YSRCP happy at the TDP-Jana Sena alliance? Many in the YSRCP feel that this alliance would ultimately benefit them electorally.

YSRCP feels that Pawan Kalyan has polarized the Kapu youths around his party – the Jana Sena. Most of these youths want to see him as the chief minister. Now that he has announced unconditional support to the TDP, it is clear that he would not be the chief ministerial candidate. There is no question of Chandrababu ceding that position to Pawan Kalyan.

So, why should Kapu youth work for the alliance when the Power Star does not become the CM? This would naturally snatch away the interest from them. At the same time, they are worried that Chandrababu would give difficult seats to the Jana Sena and would bring in his men at the last minute as Jana Sena candidates. They would work as Trozon’s horses for the TDP within the Jana Sena.

The YSRCP, which has considerable support among the Kapus, feels that this will work to its advantage as elderly Kapu leaders will see through this game and support the YSRCP. It is also confident that the alliance would break if Pawan Kalyan is given a raw deal. Even this works to Jagan’s advantage.
