The BJP, it appears, is overhauling its IT cell in Telangana. The party's national leadership feels that the social media activists are working in silos and are often working at cross purposes. One more worrying trend is that several social media wing workers have become satellites of some big leader and are only working to promote him.

The party's national leadership has decided to set things right. It has asked the Telangana state IT cell convener A V Ramana to resign. The wing has now been divided into three sub wings. One will be the data wing. This will work on the panchayat and booth level data of the workers and sympathisers. It will maintain contact with the voters and booth level activists.

The second wing is the IT wing. This will take care of the Namo App, Saral App and live streaming of the programmes of the party. This section will ensure that the party programmes reach the supporters, sympathisers and the masses. These plan for massive outreach programmes all through the year.

The third wing is the social media wing, which will create posters, memes, comments and other social media content. This wing will be involved in the narrative warfare or information warfare against the rival parties and will promote party's programmes and policies. These three wings will take shape in a short time and will start operating.
