Two months on, this party is still unable to decide on its legislature party leader!!
he BJP in Telangana is still undecided about who its legislature party leader is.
One party in Telangana, which is still undecided about its next move is the BJP. Despite being a national party with a decisive leadership, the BJP in Telangana is still undecided about who its legislature party leader is.
It is almost two months after the new assembly was constituted, but the BJP has not yet announced its LP leader. Given the amount of confusion prevailing in the party, no one knows when it will happen.
One big problem for the party is that all its key leaders iike Bandi Sanjay, Eatala Rajender, Dharmapuri Aravind and Raghunandan Rao were defeated fair and square in the assembly elections.
Most of the eight winning members are first-times with practically no legislative experience. Raja Singh of Goshamahal is a third time MLA , but language barrier and his scant regard for the organizational discipline have prevented him from becoming the LP leader.
The other MLA with previous experience is Yeleti Maheswar Reddy. But, he is a rank outsider, who joined the party only recently.
More problematic for the party is the fact that except one or two, all others are said to be trying to covet the post. Kamareddy’s giant killer K Venkataramana Reddy, who defeated both KCR and Revanth Reddy, is one strong contender.
There is also a growing demand that the position be given to a BC as the BJP had promised a BC CM if it came to power. In that case, only Payal Shankar and Raja Singh remain in the fray.
The party’s top leadership seems to be in no hurry at all in deciding the legislative party leader as of now. But, with the sessions of the assembly slated to begin soon, the party will have to make its choice. Let’s wait and see who will become the leader of the LP.
