Without any doubt, we can say that the upcoming general elections in Telangana will be different from the previous ones. While the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi is aiming for a hattrick that no other party in the Southern states has managed to achieve, the opposition parties want to spoil the plans.

The ruling BRS is the first party to announce the candidates list for the upcoming elections. Party chief KCR, the Chief Minister of Telangana took a surprising call to contest from two seats. Besides his Gajwel seat, he will be contesting from the Kamareddy Assembly seat as well.

BRS is planning to win both seats and send a strong message to everyone that KCR’s image and popularity are still intact. Campaign activities are also being planned as the elections are fast approaching.

However, it looks like the Congress Party which is confident of coming to power in the state is using KCR’s strategy to shock the ruling BRS. As KCR is gearing up for the contest in two seats, Congress is fielding strong candidates.

Firebrand leader Revanth Reddy who is the current Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief is showing interest in taking on KCR in the Kamareddy seat. We might get clarity on this soon once the candidates list is announced.

However, the strategy is restricted to KCR alone weapons are being readied for It Minister KTR and Finance Minister Harish Rao as well. Strong Congress leaders might face them in the elections in their seats.

As per the media reports, Senior Congress MP Uttam Kumar Reddy might take on KTR in Sircilla and another MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy might fight Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao in the Siddipet seat. The two leaders are expected to face the Cabinet Ministers in the next polls.

Keeping aside the debate of whether the Congress leaders can defeat the Cabinet Ministers, they might put up a strong fight and restrict the winning margin. KTR is often talking about winning the elections with a margin of over one lakh. If he faces tough competition then the margin would come down.

Harish Rao has been winning the Siddipet seat since 2004. Now he might face a big competitor. The fight is also a big question for the Congress leaders who are coming out of their comfort zones.
