Will these three districts undo BRS boss KCR’s masterplan to score a political hattrick? If political pundits are to be believed, the BRS is finding itself on a weak wicket in these three undivided districts. The Congress fortunes are said to be on the upswing in undivided Khammam, Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts.

Khammam has always been a tough nut to crack for the BRS. In both the 2014 and 2018 elections, the party could win just one out of the 10 seats in the district. In 2014, it was Jalagam Venkat Rao from Kothagudem, while in 2018, it was Puvvada Ajay from Khammam. This time too, the party is finding itself on a weak wicket in Pinapaka, Illendu, Ashwaraopet, Wyra, Sattupalli and Bhadrachalam constituencies of Khammam district.

Similarly, the Congress is quite confident about Nalgonda district, where it has performed consistently well. There are 12 assembly segments in this district and the Congress and the BRS are locked in a tight contest in most of the seats. The third district where the BRS is finding the going quite tough is Mahabubnagar.

Kollapur, Jadcharla, Alampur, Atchampet, Narayanpet, Makthal and Gadwal are locked in a serious combat between the Congress and the BRS. Similarly, Mahabubnagar constituency too is witnessing a keen contest. On the whole, there are 17 assembly constituencies where the BRS could not win even once. They are – six seats from Khammam, eight seats from the GHMC area, including seven seats that belong to the MIM and Maheshwaram and LB Nagar in the Rangareddy district.
