Besides the major parties, a few other parties are also trying their luck in the state.
In the wake of the upcoming elections, various interesting facts are grabbing everyone's attention. A few families are enjoying a good hold on the districts that are winning elections and let us have a look at them. These families are to be looked at in the elections.
Khammam: The region has been a stronghold of the Communists. It is no wonder that senior CPI leader Puvvada Nageswara Rao won the Assembly seat twice. He also won the elections as an MLC as well. He is succeeded by his son Ajay Kumar. However, Puvvada Nageswara Rao's son took a different path from his father. He started his career as a YSR leader and then joined the Congress. Now he is with the ruling BRS and is serving as the Cabinet Minister. Having won the elections in two consecutive terms, he is gearing up for the third election.
Mahbubnagar District: Veteran Congress leader Anantha Ramulu Mallu served as the MP from Nagarkurnool twice. He also served as the PCC Chief earlier. He left a big legacy as a leader. His legacy is continued by his brothers. While his brother Mallu Ravi served as the MLA and Nagarkurnool MP seat twice, his other brother Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka is also taking forward the legacy. He won as an MLA thrice from the Madhira and is gearing up for the fourth election. Observers say that Vikramarka is taking forward the legacy created by his brothers.
Jalagam Vengala Rao: The veteran Congress leader is a name that needs no introduction. The celebrated leader served as the Chief Minister and the Cabinet Minister as well. He is dubbed as one of the best Chief Ministers in the combined Andhra Pradesh.
He served as the Khammam MP twice and even served as the Home Minister in Kasu Brahmananda Reddy's cabinet. Jalagam Vengal Rao was the 5th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in the combined state. His brother is a former MP. Jalagam Kondala Rao served as the MLA and MP as well.
Jalagam Vengala Rao's legacy is continued by his sons. His elder son Prasada Rao served as the MLA and as the MP as well. The former Chief Minister's son Jalagam Venkat Rao won the Kothagudem assembly in the 2014 polls.
Ramreddy Venkat Reddy: The former Congress leader served as the MLA and has a record of serving as MLA as many as five times. He even held Ministries in the cabinets of YSR and Kiran Kumar Reddy. He hails from the Khammam region and served as the Sujatha Nagar seat twice. As part of the reorganization of constituencies, he moved to Paleru and won elections thrice.
His political legacy is continued by his brother Ramreddy Damodar Reddy. The senior Congress leader also won five times as the MLA like his brother. It is very rare to see two leaders winning five times as MLA.
