Shocking: Why Virat Kohli Fans Abusing His Wife?

There is no debating the fact that Cricket is very emotional game for the Indian population and there is a lot of emphasis that is placed on the ongoing season of IPL. Tensions are always going up during the IPL season and the same is the case this year as well.

In this context, something shocking happened last week as Virat Kohli got into a brawl with Australian player Travis head during the game between SRH and Bengaluru.

This resulted in several Virat Kohli fans on Instagram abusing Travis Head and his wife using extremely objectionable words. The wife of Travis has reacted on this matter now, and she had a very emotional statement on this matter.

“It feels like a repeat of the abuse that happened after the World Cup. I woke up to my socials blasting, we are fine but they are attacking my friends & family, I think across all sports at the moment there’s an important conversation around mental health, perspective and the way we speak to one another.

Passion will always be part of sport, but so is remembering there are real people and families behind the game. Hopefully this encourages more kindness and support for one another". Travis Head’s wife said.

It is extremely sad and shocking to see someone who is not even associated with the sport being abused so badly just because of something that happened on the field.

It is perhaps the responsibility of these places to ensure that fans are in control and do not indulge in such activities in the future as abusing family and friends over sporting reasons isn’t a good sign.
