One expected that the spat between Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Telangana chief minister KCR was over when both met at the Raj Bhavan for the swearing-in of Patnam Mahender Reddy as a minister. However, it turns out that the animus is still there and the Governor sitting on key files is giving jitters to two MLC candidates, whose names have been sent to the Raj Bhavan for approval.

The governor is yet to clear the file pertaining to the nomination of Dasoju Shravan and Kurra Satyanarayana as MLCS under the Governor’s quota. A decision was taken on July 31 by the KCR cabinet. But the governor has not cleared the files. As a result, there is uncertainty and confusion in both the candidates. They were still waiting for clearance.

Similarly, the file pertaining to the appointment of former MLA Bhupal Reddy as the State Finance Commission chairperson is also pending. KCR has decided to make Reddy the chairperson of the commission as he was sulking over denial of ticket to contest from Patancheru. KCR wanted his support for the party candidate and has hence decided to cool him off with this cabinet rank post.

Another key bill pending with the governor is the merger of the TSRTC into the state government. It has been over a month but the bill has not yet been cleared. As a result, there is uncertainty over payment of salaries to the employees. Political observers feel that KCR should make the first move and mollify the miffed governor to get these key files cleared.
