The Indian community has a special love for the United States over other nations. Indians move to the Land of opportunities every year and the numbers are increasing every year. Not just migration but Indians are also growing across sectors in the US and playing a key role in the country’s growth.

There are around 5.1 million Indian-origin people in the United States and they make a massive contribution to the country’s growth across sectors. Be it tax payments and business they make a significant contribution and help the country’s economy.

If we have to take anything from the findings of the ‘Small Community, Big Contributions, Boundless Horizons: The Indian Diaspora in the United States’ report Indian-origin people pay as much as $300 billion as taxes every year and their spending is also of hundreds of billions.

The Indian-origin people's contribution is such that the community is called the driving force of the country’s economy. In a few sectors we are dominating and we have more contributions compared to other ethnicities.

The community dominates the Technology, Business, and Hotel Management sectors. Indian-origin people have 72 startups out of the total startups in the country. They provide thousands of jobs and the collective value of these startups is around 195 billion dollars which is huge.

In Hotel Management and business Indian-origin people have a total dominance. Out of all the eateries the community owns 60 percent of them and they generate employment for lakhs of people. From fast food centres to big hotel chains, these businesses range. These businesses help Indian students get Indian food there while Americans can taste Indian cuisine.

Even in the retail sector, we own a significant share of stores. Famous Supermarket chain Patel Brothers is a big example of this as it is a one-stop destination for all needs.
