High Women Voting Turnout: YCP Vs Alliance Who Can Benefit?
This makes women the direct beneficiaries. If we take schemes like Jagananna Vidya Deevena and Ammavodi, the money is credited in women accounts.
The key episode in elections concluded the other day as Andhra Pradesh underwent the elections. The elections were predicted to be intense and high on tense situations. In some places, the elections lived up to the expectations with some shocking scenes. When clashes broke out, rubber bullets were used to control the situation.
However, there is an interesting aspect of the elections. The voting turnout of women voters was high. As per the experts, women voters turned up in big numbers to cast their votes. In almost every election, women voters can shape the election result.
The same is expected to happen in the elections as women voters might become the deciding factor and they can decide the win. Not just in one region, the same is the case with almost all the seats in the state.
As this was the polling trend, let us look at the debate of who can benefit from this. It is known that the ruling YSRCP and the alliance went to elections. Both sides are confident of the win in the elections. Let us have a look at the reasons.
Talking about the ruling YCP, it has been banking heavily on the welfare schemes and it often flaunts the welfare schemes. If we look at the schemes, the majority of them are either beneficial to women or they are in the name of women. The funds that are given to the beneficiaries are credited in the bank accounts of women.
This makes women the direct beneficiaries. If we take schemes like Jagananna Vidya Deevena and Ammavodi, the money is credited in women accounts.
If we look at the alliance, the joint manifesto announced by TDP and Janasena is also high on welfare schemes. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the manifesto has more schemes than YCP. TDP has been saying that it won't stop the schemes and would even increase them. We can see the same in the manifesto.
So both sides are aiming at women in the schemes. While the YCP is already implementing the schemes, the alliance is also doing the same. Now we have to wait and see which side would benefit.
