Earlier it was reported that YS Sharmila would merge her party into the Congress party and get some seats in return for her and others. The issue was in the news for a few weeks. But that did not happen and she said that her party would contest the elections alone.
Now YS Sharmila came up with another sensation and said that she bcaked out of the election race. She said that she would not contest the elections and this is a tough decision for her. Sharmila said that she decided to defeat KCR and see that he won't come to power again.
Speaking to the media Sharmila said that she did not think that she would take such a decision. I thought of contesting elections and becoming a legislator. Few others in the party feel the same. But I took the tough decision, she said.
Adding further YS Sharmila said that she is extending support to the Congress party and the party is looking good and has more chances of winning elections. With the opinion of giving a chance to Congress, I took the decision, she said.
During her press meeting, YS Sharmila breathed fire on the ruling BRS and said that it is not thinking about unemployment and the opposition parties had to protest for the jobs, even if the job notifications are given exams are not held properly.
Sharmila highlighted controversies over exams that were held in the state. She shed light on the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exams and the alleged paper leak. Listing all these things she said that BRS should not come to power and that's why she took the decision.
Though Sharmila’s decision was shocking, it is not a surprise that she extended her support to the Congress party. She and her family had good ties with the party in the past and looks like these factors played a role in this.
Her father YSR was a Congressman and served as the Chief Minister of the combined state. Her brother YS Jagan who is now the AP CM was an MP of Congress. Due to various reasons, Jagan parted ways and came out of the party.
