Independence Day is a big occasion in India as it is celebrated to mark the freedom of the country from colonial rule. In a week, we will be celebrating the occasion and massive arrangements are being made at the Red Fort for the same.
Independence Day this time would be different as a few US Lawmakers are expected to participate in the celebrations in the country. The delegation of lawmakers would reach India and take part in the Independence Day celebrations led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the red fort.
On the other hand, a sensational resolution was tabled which seeks to declare August 15 as ‘National Day of Celebration’. Once the resolution is passed then we can see the big day getting celebrated in the United States as well.
The Indian population is increasing in the US and we can see Indian-origin people holding big positions in various sectors including the medical sector. Even the serving Vice-President of the United States is of Indian origin.
It has to be mentioned here that Diwali is celebrated in a big way in the US and even the White House celebrated the festival. New York City announced a public holiday for the festival which will come into effect this year.
Now a resolution was tabled by Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar to declare August 15 as the ‘National Day of Celebration’. The resolution is supported by Congressman Buddy Carter and Brad Sharman. Now we have to see what happens with the resolution.
