Who Is Tamil Cinema’s No.1 Star Now?

Superstar Rajnikanth has grown old and is not doing solo movies, but is only doing high-budget multi-starrers now. Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay has done enough in movies and took the political route, now became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and left films forever. So who is taking the top slot now?

The exception of Rajnikanth and Vijay brings us to the next set of stars, Ajith and Suriya, along with the likes of Dhanush, Vikram, Siva Karthikeyan and others, who are doing good with movies. So, who among them could be the numero uno star of the Sambarland is the question. Undoubtedly, the competition is between Ajith and Suriya only. While Ajith has back-to-back massive blockbusters even with routine content, Suriya’s films didn’t work much, though they have novel concepts, until Karuppu and Viswanath & Sons.

While Ajith has the biggest fan following in Tamil Nadu, Suriya has, however, had a market bigger than the Tamil market in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Also, if properly concentrated and promoted, his films do work in states like Kerala and northern parts of the Indian subcontinent. Also, the choice of experiments Suriya does with movies like Jai Bheem and Kanguva; surely he’s the next big thing the Tamil industry has.
