Nandamuri Balakrishna’s devotion-infused action entertainer Akhanda 2 is just four days away from its grand theatrical release on December 5th, and the buzz is electrifying following the overwhelming response to the promos. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film is produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta, with M Tejaswini Nandamuri presenting.

Akhanda 2 marks the second collaboration between Balakrishna, Boyapati, and the producers. “We wanted to reunite the same combination for a film ahead of the elections as well. But the story we had planned required a release exactly before the polls. Since the dates weren’t finalized, we set that aside and moved ahead with Akhanda 2,” the producers reveal.

The film was shot under challenging conditions during the Kumbh Mela. “Getting permissions there is extremely difficult, but we managed to secure everything needed- including drone permits. Every single shot you see in the film was captured exclusively for this project. No stock footage was used. Boyapati worked tirelessly to bring the Kumbh Mela sequences to life,” they add.

According to the producers, the action sequences take things far beyond the first installment. “Shiva represents sheer mass power. The action in this film elevates like a fierce Shiva Thaandavam. The trident used in the movie is unique and cannot be replicated in any other film.”

They also clarify actress Samyuktha’s role: “Samyuktha doesn’t play the typical heroine part—hers is a crucial character in the narrative. Poorna reprises her role from Akhanda.”

The story remains deeply rooted in Sanathana Dharma. “That’s the film’s USP. It’s grounded in Sanathana Dharma, fueled by faith and devotion. In Akhanda, it was established that when children or temples are harmed, Lord Shiva himself intervenes. This film continues that very essence.”

The makers reaffirm that Akhanda 2 will release simultaneously in both 2D and 3D formats, promising a true Pan-India spectacle.
