Will Akhanda 2 Hit Theatres on the 12th?
Reports say that Boyapati Srinu is ready to give up a part of the payment that is still due to him, but he is not willing to return any amount already paid.
By: Priya Chowdhary Nuthalapti | 7 Dec 2025 11:22 AM ISTThe release of Akhanda 2 is still uncertain and has become a major topic of discussion in the film industry. Since the court has holidays on Saturday and Sunday, the next important hearing will take place on Monday. If the court gives a favorable decision, there is a chance that the movie could be released on the 12th. But if the decision is delayed or goes against the producers, the release may become very difficult.
The movie stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and is directed by Boyapati Srinu. The film has already faced several financial issues. Discussions were held on the 4th and 5th of this month, and many money-related problems were said to be nearly resolved. However, the agreements are only verbal so far, and signatures have not been completed. Some dissatisfaction still remains among the parties involved.
Reports say that Boyapati Srinu is ready to give up a part of the payment that is still due to him, but he is not willing to return any amount already paid. For the first Akhanda movie, he reportedly received around ₹9 crore, but for Akhanda 2, his total payment is said to be ₹35 crore. Out of this, about ₹25 crore has already been paid.
Even if the court gives a positive verdict, around ₹20 crore more is still required to clear all dues. Half of this amount may be arranged through cooperation, but the rest will still be a challenge. If the court order is favorable, financiers may step forward. Otherwise, the situation could return to square one.
Another serious concern is piracy. The movie’s content has already reached many people due to confidence about the release. If piracy groups misuse this, it could cause huge losses. Because of all these risks, industry insiders believe that releasing the film as soon as possible is the best option.
All eyes are now on the court decision, as it will decide the fate of Akhanda 2.
