Kalki 2898 AD kind of kicked it off with Bujji, that funky AI-powered car roaming around Prasad Labs, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, pretty much everywhere. And now, Akhanda 2 seems to have joined the club. Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu didn’t waste time; they rolled out their own beast of a vehicle and let the buzz do the talking.
The team launched this special ride, named Akhanda Roxx, at a packed event in Hyderabad. The whole thing felt loud and celebratory, almost like another pre-release function. XDrive handled the engineering part, and X Studios gave it that bold, larger-than-life look that Boyapati’s films usually carry. One glance and you know it’s built to grab attention, and honestly, it does that job pretty well.
Boyapati Srinu, designer Amar, and the key creative members were all right there at the launch. But the real surprise wasn’t the vehicle; it was the secret scene they screened from Akhanda 2. A brief Balakrishna moment, never shown anywhere till now. The crowd reacted instantly, a little shouting, a little whistling, that typical Balayya energy filling the hall. You could tell people walked out with a clearer idea of the film’s vibe.
During the event, Boyapati mentioned they’ve actually built around ten vehicles for the movie, and Akhanda Roxx is just one from the lineup. He gave a shout-out to Amar for working almost nonstop to get the design right.
Meanwhile, the off-stage talk is all about the salaries. Balakrishna is reportedly charging 40 crores, his highest so far, which is double what he took for Daaku Maharaaj. Boyapati himself is said to be getting 35 crores. Looks like the scale of the film is huge, both on-screen and off.
