The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially approved a special increase in cinema ticket prices for the upcoming Telugu film Akhanda 2: Thandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. The order was issued by the Home (General-A) Department on December 2, 2025, after the makers of the film, 14 Reels Plus LLP, submitted a request for special rates and a benefit show.

According to the government memo, theatres in Andhra Pradesh can collect ₹75 extra for Single Screen theatres and ₹100 extra for Multiplexes, including GST. This permission will be valid for 10 days from the date of release, i.e., from December 5, 2025.

Along with the increased rates, the State Government has also allowed one special benefit show on December 4, 2025, between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The ticket price for this special premiere show has been fixed at ₹600, including GST. The government also permitted the screening of five shows per day during the special period.

The memo states that this decision was taken after reviewing the representation from the production house and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. All District Collectors, Joint Collectors, Licensing Authorities, and Police Commissioners in the State have been directed to ensure proper implementation of the order.

This move is expected to help the film’s producers and theatre owners manage the heavy demand during the initial days of release. The orders clearly mention that these permissions are temporary and apply only for the first ten days of the film’s run. After that, normal ticket prices will again come into effect.
