By: Shanaz B Syed | 1 Aug 2025 4:03 PM ISTRam Charan is returning to big screens with Peddi which is releasing next March. Music director A.R. Rahman is working on Ram Charan’s upcoming movie Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. This rural sports drama brings a big challenge for Rahman, especially because he is composing an item song for the first time in Telugu cinema.
Usually, composers like Thaman or Devi Sri Prasad are known for catchy item numbers, so fans are curious to see how Rahman handles this genre.
Rahman is also returning to straight Telugu cinema after many years. The film’s music rights were sold to T-Series for a record ₹25 crore, the highest ever for a Ram Charan film. This shows how much expectations people have from the music of Peddi.
Recently, Rahman received criticism for his work in the movie Chhaava, especially for its weak background score. This made some fans worried. However, when the teaser of Peddi was released during Sri Rama Navami, it received a lot of positive response. The background music in the teaser impressed everyone and gave fans hope.
Rahman also praised director Buchi Babu for giving him clear music ideas. With this strong team and fresh concept, fans are now excited to see how Rahman’s music will lift Peddi to the next level.
