Don't you consider Telugu Market?
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 Aug 2017 12:09 PM GMTFor many Tamil heroes, Telugu is the biggest and best market for expansion. Right from Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan to Chiyaan Vikram, Vijay, Suriya, Karthi all have their eyes on the second biggest market for Films in India, Telugu market. While, even heroes like Dhanush are also trying hard to mingle among the Telugu audience and increase their market, Ajith Kumar who is known as Thala in Tamil Cinema, seems to not care much for Telugu market.
Even before Vikram, Suriya and many others, in mid-90's itself, Ajith found a base for his films in Telugu too. His movies Prema Lekha and Vaali have become huge successes here too. Had he used that craze he could have easily developed a good market in Telugu too but the actor maintains a low profile and he doesn't participate in promotions of his movies like others.
In fact, Ajith has grown leaps and bounds in Tamil and his movie records on social media and even in terms of collections have made people from North too notice him. Still Ajith hasn't shown much interest in promoting the movie at least outside of Tamil Industries. Had he tried to take help of any big star here, he could have easily got some amount buzz for his Vivegam movie that is releasing as Vivekam in Telugu.
Even though he has good enough following in Telugu, if there is no planning and promotions then no body can save the movie, however good it might be. Director Siva, who made this movie with Thala, started his career in Telugu with Shouryam and made movies like Daruvu, Shankam before going to Tamil. Well, even he did not try to use his connections to promote the film here. We wonder what is the planning and logic behind keeping so very low key in this hi-tech promotions world!
