The controversial movie tickets issue in Andhra Pradesh had reached the High Court for one more after the state government approached the court challenging the Single Bench's verdict. The Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court heard the petition and issued key directives in connection with the issue.

The bench said, as per the Single Bench's verdict, the theatre owners should place the recommendations of the ticket fares before the Joint Collector(JC) and the JC will take a call on the ticket issues. Adding further, the bench said the Andhra Pradesh government should constitute a committee to decide on the tickets issue.

The next hearing is adjourned to next Monday. However, it is not clear whether the theatre owners can increase the ticket prices till Monday or they should sell the tickets for the prices fixed by the government.

During the arguments, the lawyers who represented the state government said that GO was introduced so that the people will get to buy movie tickets without any burden. After hearing the arguments of the government's counsel on why the Government Order was issued by the government, the bench directed the government to set up a committee on the issue, the Division bench postponed the hearing to Monday.

The division bench also said that the theatre owners should inform the Joint Collector if they want to increase the ticket fares. Now all eyes are on the special committee to know what decisions will it take.

The other day, the Single Bench had canceled GO 35 and allowed the theater owners to sell the movie tickets for the earlier rates. The petitioners who approached the court argued that the government has no power on deciding the terms for the industries. Satisfied with the arguments, the High Court gave its nod for the theatre owners to go for the previous prices.

At the time when the theatre owners were happy with the court orders and welcomed the same, the Andhra Pradesh government said the verdict would be challenged. As announced earlier, the government moved the Division bench of the High Court against the verdict.
