Extra Pressure On Megastar's 'Waltair Veerayya'!
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Nov 2022 5:29 AM GMTIt is quite natural for any star hero to go through a bad run at some point in his career. A legend like Amitabh Bachchan had to almost go bankrupt before 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. But the phenomenal success gave him a new life and he is two decades into his second innings but still going strong. It is quite important to bounce back at the right time. After the failures of 'Paisa Vasool', 'Ruler' and 'NTR' biopic, many thought that it is time for Balakrishna to slow down. But he silenced everyone with the blockbuster success of 'Akhanda' and his 'Unstoppable' show too worked wonders for his image.
Megastar Chiranjeevi gave a strong comeback with 'Khaidi No 150' and minted more than 100 crores. But the happiness didn't last long as his ambitious project 'Sye Raa' turned out to be a commercial failure despite critical acclaim. We all know how 'Acharya' turned out to be a nightmare. People are not ready to watch this film even in television which speaks volumes. His last release 'Godfather' bagged a positive talk but the collections were not up to the mark.
Now, he faces a huge challenge in the form of Sankranti season. He is arriving with a mass movie titled 'Waltair Veerayya' and is all set to lock horns with 'Veera Simha Reddy'. Chiru and Balayya have a box office race is nothing new but this is the first time both of them are hitting the screens with mass masala movies. Fans expect Megastar to collect more than 100 crores with Bobby's film. Mythri Movie Makers are the producers for these two movies and equal importance will be given to both in terms of promotions. Despite all the care, there is going to be huge fan wars.
Despite being a complete mass entertainer, the pressure is quite heavy on 'Waltair Veerayya'. If the film fails to get a positive talk, Balakrishna's film will dominate the Sankranti season completely. Also, there is a chance of everyone claiming that Chiranjeevi is no longer a 100 crore hero. So, the success of 'Waltair Veerayya' is crucial for Megastar. Not just Chiru but the movie needs to become a hit for many others who are working in it. Devi Sri Prasad has to deliver a huge hit album once again after 'Pushpa' in order to prove his worth. Thaman is racing ahead of him currently. Also, writer Kona Venkat has become outdated according to many and he needs to prove them wrong. People don't know what kind of role Shruti Hassan plays and fans pinned their entire hopes on this film as they don't believe in Chiru's next film 'Bholaa Shankar'.
