Nandamuri Balakrishna scored his career best hit with his landmark film Gautami Putra Satakarni. With the success of his 100th film, expectations raised on his 101st film. Even though several directors tried for the opportunity to direct Balayya, it was Puri Jagannadh who ultimately got the offer.
