Legendary Tollywood director who had worked with various matinee idols in his illustrious career Sri P. Chandrasekhar Reddy had breathed his last at his residence in Chennai on Monday. The news was announced by his family members. P. Chandrasekhar Reddy was 86 at the time of his death.

The veteran director who had helmed close to 80 films had worked with yesteryear Superstars like Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao(NTR), Akkineni Nageswara Rao(ANR), Superstar Krishna, Sobhan Babu, and others.

P. Chandrasekhar Reddy, who is popularly called PC Reddy in the film industry was born on October 14 in 1933. He made his directorial debut with Anuradha that had an ensemble cast of Super Star Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, and Rebel Star Krishnam Raju. The drama film was a big hit.

Bhale Alludu, Manavudu Danavudu, Kodukulu, Jagannayakudu, Badipantulu, Vichitra Dampathyam, Ragile Gundelu, Navodayam, Padipantalu, Bangaru Kapuram, Rajakeeya Chadarangam, Anna Vadina, Peddalu Marali, Patnavasam, Anna Chellu and others are some of the films he had directed.

The ace filmmaker had an association with two leading stars of Tollywood NTR and ANR, who were seen as the two eyes of the industry.

P. Chandrasekhara Reddy had joined forces with Anna NTR only one time. The duo worked for one of the iconic films in the Telugu industry Badi Panthulu. NTR played the role of a respected school teacher who was ignored by his sons after he retires from his service. A student of NTR who later becomes a Police officer comes to his rescue when his house gets auctioned for the debts he made for his childrens' education.

PC Reddy who debuted in the industry with Krishna had continued his association with the Super Star and the two went on to make twenty movies, out of which many films were huge hits at the box office.

P. Chandrasekhar Reddy's legacy in the industry continues as a few assistant directors who worked under him have held the megaphone later. Directors like B. Gopal, Muthyala Subbaiah, and a few others associated with the veteran director.

The veteran director's last film was Jagannayakudu, which was released back in 2014. Before Jagannayakudu, his previous film was Hostel Days.
