After his cameo in 'Manam', many estimated that Akhil Akkineni is going to be the next big star of Tollywood. The charming looks impressed everyone and a lot of hype surrounded his debut film 'Akhil' which was directed by VV Vinayak. Sadly, the film ended up as a disaster and Akhil went onto making some romantic entertainers like 'Hello' and 'Mr Majnu' which turned out to be disappointments too.

He is awaiting the release of 'Most Eligible Bachelor' which was bankrolled by 'GA2 Pictures' banner. Now, Akhil Akkineni is all set to play the lead in a spy thriller titled 'Agent'. This movie is being directed by Surender Reddy and Vakkantham Vamsi has penned the story. It is being made on a grand scale under 'AK Entertainments' banner by Rambrahmam Sunkara. The makers released a few posters till date which got mixed responses.

According to the latest talk in tinsel town, Akhil's dad Nagarjuna is acting as the ghost producer for this film. The senior star hero is reportedly doing all he can to lift his son's career. Since 'Agent' is a spy thriller, it needs a lot of graphic work and most of the shooting is expected to be done in the studios. While this is a crazy combination, Akhil is getting some negative buzz regarding this project.

News is that the team of Akhil including Nagarjuna is doing all they can to turn the negative buzz on 'Agent' into positive. The posters of 'Agent' which showed Akhil's muscular body and six-pack abs got a lot of attention. While some of them are positive, there are a few negative as well as sarcastic comments. We need to wait and see how Akhil and his team get past this trolling and score a hit with 'Agent'.

The shooting of this film kickstarted recently and Surender Reddy is aiming to score a good hit with 'Agent'. His last film 'Sye Raa' with Chiranjeevi didn't get universal applause and he had to wait nearly for two years before the start of 'Agent'. The heroine beside Akhil in 'Agent' is yet to be decided.
