Despite getting released amid high expectations, the movie Italian failed to impress the audience and ended up as a disaster at the box office. It is known that Balayya along with the Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri bankrolled this project. Out of all the producers or distributors, Sai Korrapati's profit and loss story turned out to be very interesting. Because he faced huge profits as well as heavy losses with the film. Reportedly, Sai Korrapati got 5 crores as his share as a co-producer. He himself has distributed the film in some areas and has lost around 8 crores. Though he earned a good amount as a producer he has faced 3 crores loss as a distributor.
On the other hand 'NTR Kathanayakudu' ended up as one of the biggest disasters at the box office with 50 crores loss. The trade is predicting that this historical failure will create a negative impact on the upcoming second part of the film, 'NTR Mahanayakudu'.
