To estimate whether a movie is hit or not, the collections in Telugu States also the Overseas collections are to be noted. Based on the elections the movies are making at the US box office, analysts are estimating the stamina of the film. From the past 3 years only 5 movies succeeded in joining the two million dollar club.
Other than Baahubali, Srimanthudu, A Aa, Khaidi Number 150, Nannaku Prematho movies reached the two million mark. Till now the two million mark has been a benchmark in the overseas. But it seems like it is going to change. Because four high budget movies that got released in this year broke that collections. Agnyathavaasi, Rangastalam, Bharath Ane Nenu, Mahanati movies recorded 2 million dollar collections whereas the industry hit Rangastalam made 3.5 million dollars. As per the reports, Bharath Ane Nenu movie also reached the 3.4 million mark.
Pawan Kalyan starrer Agnyathavasi became the first disaster of 2018. Though the movie failed to impress the audience, the collections went up to 2 millions which is the proof of Pawan and Trivikram's stamina. Observing the collections trend, Telugu movie can become a blockbuster only if it collects more than 3 million dollars at the US box office. So, we can say that 2018 has took the range of Telugu cinema to the next level. Let's see how many movies are going to touch this new benchmark.
