2018 Biggest Opener Fails To Beat Baahubali

Bollywood flick 'Sanju' emerged as the biggest opener of 2018 by collecting a whooping Rs 34.75 crore on Day 1 in India. Real-life Story of Sanjay Dutt who was embroiled in many controversies in the past, Crazy combination of Ranbir Kapoor & Rajkumar Hirani, Superb Promos and Wide Release have made this biopic a record-breaking hit.
'Sanju' might have shattered the Day 1 records of all the Bollywood films released in 2018 but the benchmark set by 'Baahubali - The Conclusion' remains unshattered. While the Hindi version of 'Baahubali 2' collected Rs 41 crore on First Day, 'Sanju' fell short of it by over Rs 6 crore. Both these biggies released on a non-holiday and that's one thing in common between them.
The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer may pose a threat to many Bollywood blockbusters in the long run but the full run record of 'Baahubali 2' could be safe. While the Hindi version of SS Rajamouli-directorial collected over Rs 500 crore in India alone, 'Sanju' is estimated to cross Rs 300 crore-mark.
