Indian-British Businessman Raj Kundra who is dubbed as the key conspirator behind the adult film racket that is into filming and publishing the obscene content got a major sigh of relief in the case as he had knocked on the doors of the country’s top court Supreme Court in connection with the much-discussed case.

Hearing a petition filed by Raj Kundra, the Apex Court granted four weeks of protection to him from getting arrested. Having granted protection, the Supreme Court also served notice to the Maharashtra state government. He had approached the top court as the petition seeing an anticipatory bail in the case was refused by the Bombay High Court. With no option left, he approached the Apex Court.

Earlier last month Raj Kundra had knocked on the doors of the Bombay High Court to seek anticipatory bail. He told the court that, contrary to the allegations leveled against him, the videos contain no physical activity between the activity and sought bail.

He even alleged that he has no role play in the case but was wrongly framed in the case. Whatsoever, the High Court did not grant him anticipatory bail. Besides him, the other accused in the case were also not granted bail.

Raj Kundra, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband was arrested by the Mumbai Police in July earlier this year in connection with the case. On the grounds of his alleged role in the mobile app Hotshots that uploads obscene content, he was arrested and sent to jail. After spending nearly two months in prison, he was released on bail.

After he was arrested in connection with the racket, a few actresses have claimed that Raj Kundra was involved in wrongdoings and alleged that he would trick the aspiring actors to be a part of the racket.

Earlier, he had approached a session court to get bail, but could not get bail. Later, he approached the High Court, and with the High Court saying no to the petition, he had reached out to the top court. The division bench comprising Justices Vineet Saran and Aniruddha Bose granted him protection.
