Baahubali Producer Restricts AI To Mobile Screens

Baahubali producer Shobhu Yarlagadda is known for his understanding of technology and technological insights. He speaks of many latest and emerging technologies and gives his opinion without any hesitation. Recently, he spoke about what AI video generation is currently doing and what it could do in the coming days.

Apparently, the producer felt that AI would be helpful only to generate some instant videos which the directors can use for storyboarding purposes and show them to the team and others. However, he stated that whatever is generated by AI would be good on mobile screens but not beyond that. He stated that in a two-hour film, there should be a lot of emotional continuity and expression continuity, and that’s impossible for AI to achieve at this moment.

Though generative AI is creating stuff like two star heroes fighting with each other, Shobu feels that all that is created is from AI’s imagination, but it can’t control from which direction a blow should land, and how one of the characters should exit and other things. He felt that currently AI capabilities are limited to 10-second clips that could be played on mobiles, but won’t fit the framework of large-screen viewing.
