Can Balayya Beat VSR Record With Daaku Maharaj?

Nandamuri Balakrishna has been in supremely good form in recent years, thanks to consecutive successful films at the box office. He is now awaiting the release of his upcoming Sankranti film Daku Maharaj.

As Daku Maharaj heads for its big release the Sankranti season, let us have a look at the box office prospect of the Balakrishna film.

Firstly, by the looks of it, Daku Maharaj appears to be a properly packed commercial action film with a strong period action episode. The makers have been confidently claiming that the flashback portion in the film will be of absolute madness, and it will send the theatre into a frenzy mode. They sounded super confident about the kind of content that this film packed.

Coming to the box office side of things, it could perhaps be argued that this is the costliest film from Balakrishna in recent years. In accordance, the film must pack a punch at the box office as there are huge investments at stake.

Earlier, Balakrishna had a huge opener in the form of Veera Simha Reddy, which collected ₹25 crore share on its opening day in the Telugu state. Coincidently, this film had also released during the Sankranti season much like Daku Maharaj now.

The clear cut target for Daku Maharaj now will be to beat the opening day tally of Veera Simha Reddy and post a huge opener for Balayya at the box office. That being said, this task is much tougher than it looks on paper.

It must be noted that this film will be releasing in competition with Ram Charan’s Game Changer and Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vastunnam. Right from the theatre distribution to the theatrical shares, everything will be competed fiercely. So it has to be seen if Balayya can pass this test and still post a good number with this Daku Maharaj.
