Why Balayya Unable To Touch Megastar Chiranjeevi?

There is no debating the fact that Nandamuri Balakrishna is the most consistent senior Hero in Tollywood as of this moment. He is the only senior Hero to be consistently, delivering big success at the box office, one after another.

His most recent film Daaku Maharaaj is his biggest hit till date and it reportedly grossed in the range of Rs 160 crore. This makes it Balayya fourth consecutive hit at the box office.

However, the issue here is that despite all this box office success, Balayya is unable to deliver a significant 200 crore film. As it turns out, all of his films are easily collecting hundred crore and dropping big time immediately after the mark is reached. The same happened with Daku as well. The film substantial after reaching the 100 crore mark at the box office.

On the contrary, megastar Chiranjeevi is proving to be far more long marketed when it comes to big box, office success. He has not won, but two films that have collected over 200 crore grass at the box office. These films are Sye Raa and Waltair Veerayya obviously. Khaidi 159 also came close.

The issue here is that Balayya is unable to bring the family audience in big numbers for him to generate longer revenues to touch big numbers. This is exactly what happened with Venkatesh Daggubati for Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. The film entirely ran on the bonus given by the family audience, and it worked very well at the box office.

The acceptance amongst the family audience is most crucial for any Hero to deliver consecutive big money grossers at the box office. As it appears, despite the consecutive success tested by Balayya, he really needs to his market when it comes to the family folk, who will give his films longer run. Perhaps doing more family friendly films will help him reach there.
