Why Is Balayya Heavily Promoting This Liquor Brand?

There was a time when fans used to whisper that Nandamuri Balakrishna takes alcohol. It was a rumour at that time and the photos of Balayya drinking came out on social media. Now, he is doing shows and movies in which he is promoting a certain liquor brand with no hesitation. While drinking scenes are common in movies, Balayya is becoming too open in terms of promoting the brand of alcohol he takes.

There is a scene in 'Jai Simha' where he drinks that so-called brand but it is for a short period. After that, it became the main sponsor for his talk show. Now, the teaser of Balakrishna and Bobby's film came out and we can see the brand promotion very clearly. The pre-look too had the branded liquor bottle and the teaser which released on Maha Shivaratri too had the same brand and had a special closeup shot on it as well.

While it is fun to talk about the brand that a hero drinks in private but people are wondering about the reason for these public displays and brand promotions. Experts say that it is sending the wrong signals. Even liquor brands are not allowed to promote alcohol on television which is why advertise indirectly. But Balayya is doing it openly which might influence the society in a wrong manner. While we argue that movies cannot influence people and the makers need to have a bit of creative freedom but showing a negative thing in a positive way repeatedly makes no sense. When the discussion is all about the brand that the hero drinks, there is a big chance of fans drinking the same brand too.

Youth consuming a lot of cigarettes is mainly due to the influence of big stars like Rajnikanth smoking stylishly in movies over the past couple of decades. Balakrishna is not just promoting alcohol, he is promoting a certain brand as well for some reason. Being an MLA, he shouldn't keep promoting the brand of alcohol on a regular basis. He is also the head of Basavatarakam Hospital which should make him act in an even more responsible manner.
