DCM in action: Bigg Boss Doors Finally Opened
Officials claimed that the Jollywood or Vels Studio had failed to obtain proper environmental clearances and was causing air and water pollution.
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Oct 2025 12:54 PM ISTKarnataka Bigg Boss show hit a roadblock after the hose was shut momentarily due to pollution control restriction. The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) recently sealed the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 shooting studio in Bidadi for allegedly violating environmental norms.
Officials claimed that the Jollywood or Vels Studio had failed to obtain proper environmental clearances and was causing air and water pollution. Following the closure, shooting was halted and contestants were shifted to another location, creating chaos in the production schedule.
After reviewing the situation, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar directed the district administration to lift the seal on the studio. He said the production team should be given time to correct the environmental issues while ensuring compliance with the law.
Shivakumar clarified that the intention was not to stop creative work but to ensure that proper environmental practices are followed.
Soon after his order, the studio reopened, and shooting for Bigg Boss Kannada resumed. Host Kichcha Sudeepa thanked the Deputy Chief Minister for his quick intervention, saying that the show itself had no role in the violations and was only using the premises for filming.
The government’s decision has drawn mixed reactions, with environmental activists demanding strict monitoring of the studio’s future operations. Authorities have confirmed that compliance checks will continue even as the show proceeds.
