On August 8, 2024, Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala officially announced their engagement in a traditional ceremony.
The event, held at Chaitanya’s Hyderabad residence, was a private affair with close family members.
The ceremony began with a traditional pooja, followed by a vegetarian lunch featuring Andhra cuisine. Attendees included Naga Chaitanya’s family—his parents Nagarjuna Akkineni and Lakshmi Daggubati, his stepmother Amala Akkineni, and his half-brother Akhil. Sobhita Dhulipala’s parents, a marine engineer and a government school teacher, also attended.

On the work front, Naga Chaitanya is currently filming "Thandel," directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The movie, set in Srikakulam, features Chaitanya as a member of a fishermen community and marks his second collaboration with Sai Pallavi, who plays his love interest.
