There were days when Bollywood films were ahead of Telugu movies both in terms of content as well as the market. When Telugu films were struggling to touch the 100 crore mark, big hero films in Hindi used to minted 250-300 crores. But the tables have turned over the last decade. It was 'Baahubali' that showcased the stamina of Telugu cinema to the entire nation. The records set by 'Baahubali 2' are yet to be broken in some areas. Movies like 'RRR', 'Pushpa', 'KGF' and more proved that South cinema is ahead of Bollywood now.

Especially, films of Prabhas are getting huge numbers at the box office irrespective of the talk. While 'Baahubali' franchise made him a huge star in India, his 'Saaho' brought profits to Hindi distributors despite the bad talk. While 'Radhe Shyam' was a disaster, his 'Adipurush' opened to huge numbers in the Hindi market. 'Salaar' minted around 150 crores in the North despite competing with Shah Rukh Khan. Sources say that his 'Kalki 2898 AD' is going to get more openings than all his previous outings.

Keeping the worldwide theatrical business aside, the craze for this film is massive in the Hindi market. At a time when big names like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and many other young heroes are unable to get 10-12 crores on the opening day, the Hindi version of 'Kalki' is expected to gross more than 25 crores. The trade experts claim that it might get 20 crores just with advance bookings alone. Barring 'Jawan' and 'Pathan' from Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood did not deliver a 1000 crore film. None of the other heroes managed to get huge collections in recent times. But Prabhas who doesn't like to speak in public life is creating a storm on screen. The buzz around 'Kalki 2898 AD' is massive in the North and let us see how much it collects.
