Kangana Ranaut's highly anticipated film *Emergency* has faced yet another delay, as the release date has been postponed due to issues with obtaining a certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Originally scheduled to premiere on September 6, the film's future remains uncertain as the team awaits the necessary clearance. Kangana expressed her disappointment on social media, stating, "With a heavy heart, I announce that my directorial *Emergency* has been postponed. We are still waiting for certification from the censor board. A new release date will be announced soon".

The film has been surrounded by controversy since its inception, particularly concerning its portrayal of the Sikh community. The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has formally objected to the film, claiming it misrepresents their sect. This backlash has intensified, leading to public outcry and even death threats directed at Kangana. The film, which depicts the politically tumultuous period of the Emergency in India, features Kangana in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, alongside notable actors like Anupam Kher and Mahima Chaudhary.

Kangana's attempts to expedite the certification process have been met with legal challenges. She approached the Bombay High Court seeking an urgent censor certificate, but the court clarified that it could not compel the CBFC to issue one. The court has directed the CBFC to make a decision regarding the film's certification by September 18, with a subsequent hearing scheduled for September 19. This legal entanglement adds another layer of complexity to the film's release, as Kangana continues to face scrutiny from various groups.

Despite the setbacks, Kangana remains resolute in her commitment to the film and its message. She has voiced her frustrations about the ongoing challenges, stating, "Today I have become everyone's favorite target; this is the price you pay for awakening this sleeping nation." As the film's release hangs in the balance, fans and supporters continue to rally behind her, expressing their eagerness to see *Emergency* once it finally hits the screens.
