Recently, the film Suriya’s Karuppu aka Veera Bhadrudu in Telugu faced severe difficulties on its release day. As the morning shows got cancelled, director RJ Balaji has even posted that he’s unable to take it, and he has cried, leaving everything to fate. However, a noted Tamil distributor and financier, Tiruppur Subramanyam, has now breathed fire on the director for creating such a situation for the movie.

“A film that was started as a ₹30 crore-budgeted movie might cost you ₹40 crore, but it turned out to be a ₹80 crore-budgeted movie. In the end, the director is sitting in the car, crying, when the film faced hurdles, but what’s he doing when he is making the movie beyond the budget? Had he controlled the budget there, the producer would not be suffering today, know? Why are the directors not standing by the producers?” asked Subramanyam, putting out his points straight.

He stated that only 50% of his money was returned before the release, and Suriya gave him assurance regarding the balance of the money, praising Suriya as the only one who helped the movie get released, not anyone else. “Before the release, when the producer is struggling for 2-3 months, the director is nowhere. Now that the movie turned out to be a blockbuster, he’s throwing his collar up. What if the film didn’t work? Would the director have paid the balance money?” he further added.

As the distributor cum financier called out this hypocrisy, many are trolling RJ Balaji now for his earlier crying act and more.
