“There is a Kia plant here, and then we have a Korean connection, and the story of Korean Kanakaraju takes place in Anantapur and its surroundings, which I can’t avoid because Rayalaseema is my native place”, says director Merlapaka Gandhi, who needs a hit badly with Varun Tej’s Korean Kanakaraju. He thanked the hero for doing the Anantapur accent well. At this juncture, let’s see how this connection has formed.

With the arrival of the Kia manufacturing plant, a Korean automotive company, in the Industrial area near Penukonda, Anantapur District, a Korean town gradually developed around the place. Right now, we can see that town, which has boards, signage, everything written in Korean, and many Koreans living there. Korean restaurants, shops and many other things emerged there. In fact, Kia Motors and Korean Village are the primary things that made director Gandhi write this story, and that’s how Korean Kanakaraju emerged.

As the film is hitting cinemas on August 7th, both Varun Tej and Gandhi want to make sure that they are likely to score a blockbuster at the box office. Already, the songs like Kamsaamida have clicked well from the film and the other day they launched another folk song Raasa Gummadi from the movie. For now, Kanakaraju is hoping that this film is going to change their fortunes.
