Balakrishna-Manoj Combination: How It Happened?

In fact, director Gopichand Malineni was supposed to do a big-budget film with Ravi Teja earlier, and the costing didn't work out as OTT platforms didn't back such a huge investment. Later, that project was reshaped, and Sunny Deol came aboard to make a Hindi-Telugu bilingual, Jaat. It looks like the same has repeated in the case of the Balakrishna and Malineni project as well, but with a twist.

Gopichand Malineni has not even planned this, but after OTT hurdles to take off their historical subject film ahead, it’s heard that they have come up with this story of two brothers. Some insider reports have come out that only Nandamuri Balakrishna has advised the director to take Manchu Manoj for the brother role. But we have to see if Manoj will be seen in negative shades towards the end, as anticipated, or if they change it.

After Akhanda 2 failed to click, surely Balakrishna is being made to work on a tighter budget production rather than getting lavish investment. This is what many trade pundits have said earlier as Tollywood drifted more towards OTT income rather than focusing on theatre revenues. At least now we have to see if Tollywood focuses on the theatre run of a film so that the decision of OTT platforms will not alter stories like this.
